Paris Saint-Germain have made a desperate attempt to keep Kylian Mbappe at the Parc de Prince, sensationally offering him control of sporting operations, including the hiring and firing of managers and teammates, according to El Chiringuito TV.

The 23-year-old’s contract with PSG expires at the end of the season and he is on the verge of moving to Real Madrid for free. The Sheikhs are offering Kylian a £100m signing bonus in addition to his £4m a month salary. PSG have offered to make Mbappe a “project owner” from next season, where he will be given a say in the change of manager and selection of teammates.

The managerial role would be in addition to their proposal to make Mbappe the highest paid player in football. Sky Sports claim that the French champions are ready to offer him a lavish £4m a month offer – double his previous salary.

Sky Sports also claims Mbappe will receive a huge signing bonus of up to £100 million if he signs with PSG, including concessions on image rights and any on-field performance bonuses.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said the decision to give Mbappe control of sporting operations would give him a say in the future of Mauricio Pochettino, who has been linked with leaving following his Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in the 1/16 final.

Pochettino claimed in April that he and Mbappe would “100 per cent” stay at PSG next season, but that does not appear to be the case as the season draws to a close. Newspapers in Spain claimed Mbappe would make an official announcement about his move to Real Madrid after they play Liverpool in the Champions League final on May 28.

“Paris first, then Mbappe,” reads the headline in Tuesday’s edition of AS, referring to the fact that the final will take place at the Stade de France. They report that Mbappe plans to say goodbye to PSG next week. “Real Madrid will officially announce the free transfer after the final.

AS are reporting that Mbappe will become the highest paid player in the club’s history and his payout will be the highest in world football, with a five-year contract to be signed. Marca are also talking about Mbappe, putting his face on the cover and publishing the headline: ‘Yes, Mbappe has completed a deal to move to Madrid’.

It all seems to be moving swiftly towards completion after Mbappe revealed at the Ligue 1 awards ceremony on Sunday night that an announcement was just around the corner.

I can’t say about my future, but you’ll find out very soon… everything is almost decided. It’s not the right time, but yes, yes… my decision is almost made,” said the French footballer.

He was named Ligue 1’s best player of the season for the third consecutive year at the awards ceremony.
