“Eintracht won the European Cup for the second time in their history. In the Europa League final, the Frankfurt club beat Rangers 5-4 on penalties.

The main time at the Ramón Sánchez Pizhuán in Seville ended 1-1, with Joe Aribo’s goal in the 57th minute answered by Santos Borre in the 69th. Extra time did not decide the winner, and in the penalty shoot-out 9 of 10 shots were scored. The decisive blunder was made by Welshman Aaron Ramsey, on loan from Juventus, as the Eintracht goalkeeper repelled the ball to bring his side the title.

On 10 August, Eintracht will play the winner of the Champions League final, Real Madrid vs Liverpool, in the Supercup.
